India
(Amar Jyoti India): Beseech God for His blessing on the
upcoming U.S. visit of director Pramod Das and his
wife, Asha, and daughter, Priya. They arrive on October 12. Ask
God for wisdom in setting up many meetings in the U.S. for Pramod
to speak at churches and share the AJI work. Also, please pray for
a Leadership Training Camp to be conducted Nov 10-14 for 25 AJI
missionaries.

SLM-
Calcutta: Director
Karunakar Jena is blessing the Lord for the recent
dedication of the new SLM-Calcutta building on Aug 30. Let’s
continue to pray for the last $5,000 needed by Sept 29 to pay for
the painting of the building Karunakar asks prayer
for new Muslim converts in Murshidabad. There is much persecution.
A recent testimony:
“Sankar
was an alcoholic, addicted, and was in adultery, but he confessed
his sins before the Lord and was forgiven. His life was changed
and his wife’s life was also changed by seeing Sankar. His
wife threw out all of the idols at their home…Sankar also
told to many about his conversion and he urged them to repent and
believe in the Lord. So 8 Hindus believed in the Lord due to his
testimony. Please pray for these new believers who were baptized
on Sept 4. A church is meeting in Sankar’s home every
Tuesday evening. There are hundreds of such testimonies in our
churches here in Calcutta, people whom God has saved through the
ministry of SLM (AJI)…God is planting the house churches
through the ordinary believers of our churches. Please pray for
more pastors for the churches.”

SLM
– Delhi:
Give thanks with Sanjeeb Sahu for a successful
trip to Himachal Pradesh in August: He was able to deliver 5
motorcycles that were provided by another ministry. Sanjeeb also
praises the Lord for finances received to extend the church at
Gharsari and for construction started on the new church building
at Rohru. Prayer is requested for: 1) for Indu (for salvation and
deliverance from evil spirits), for Shishu (for growth and
overcoming various fears), for God’s healing touch for
Kamladevi who has been suffering from breast cancer the last
several months; her condition is deteriorating; 2) for Bro. Balbir
Singh (Pastor of Shimla church, a Nepali) who desires to go to
Nepal and serve there.

SLM-Bangalore:
Director Hemanth Peter reports God’s
marvelous blessings the past 12 months in the ministry: 1) 4
seminars were conducted on “Satan and his Strategies,”
and many were delivered from the traps of the devil 2)
Gospel meetings in Hyderabad resulted in 30 trusting Christ and
150 rededicating their lives to the Lord 3) Preaching at 6
conventions with 2000 in attendance brought 470 precious souls to
Christ 4) a Bible college was started (evenings) and now has 26
students. Please pray for: 1) my health: my cholesterol rose over
600 2) $1200 for a motorbike 3) $120/month for 5 new
evangelists.

Philippines:
Rejoice with Director Dr. Luz Nacionales that no
riots have occurred in the men’s prison in Manila for 3
years. The prison has offered PhilSOL a lot for a building to
house PhilSOL’s ministry in the prison (because of
appreciation for their fine work). Pray for finances for this
building, and for God to make a way to bypass the corrupt prison
officials who are asking for bribes before they will sign the
documents for the building. Prayer is also requested for the 9
national missionaries of PhilSOL: 1) for the Notartes financial
needs for their children 2) for house rental of $75 for Pastor
Cantoria 3) for Pastor Patneo’s daughter’s tuition of
$50/month 4) for Mrs. Alcon’s son’s tuition fee 5) for
office storage for the Deniolas 6) for funds for Tina
Hidalgo to move out of her current office which is infested with
termites and large rats ($200-500 for rental/moving expenses).

Japan:
Director Takuji Yamazaki is rejoicing in the 5th
Anniversary Celebration on August 21, followed by a Discipleship
Training class for the Bible college students Aug 22-27. Praise
God with Takuji for a very recent answer to prayer: God just
provided a new SLM DTC office for the work! A member of Takuji’s
Toyohashi Grace Baptist Church donated a 5-room “apartment/house”
which is right next door to the Yamazakis’ residence. Please
ask God now for office equipment ($5,000) and monthly funds of
$300 for maintenance and utilities.

Singapore:
Director Florence Lim requests prayer for 1)
preparations for their 5th Anniversary Celebration in
December and 2) their online Bible course ministry which is
expanding.

Korea:
Please uphold Paul and Sue Bahn and the
SLM-Korea Board as they seek to re-establish the SLM work in
Korea. Pray for needed funds and materials.
q
Bangladesh:
Bless God for the completion
of the first Muslim Bengali course, New Life 1, translated in
Bangladesh and the CD mailed to Cuttack, India where it will be
printed by SLM personnel. Let’s pray many Muslims in India
and in Bangladesh will be won to Christ and strengthened through
the course.

China:
TO GOD BE THE GLORY!! All
20,000 of the Bible course, New Life in Christ, have been
printed and will be distributed by the end of September. Bless the
Lord for another $5,000 gift which was just received for this
ministry. One of the readers of the Reaper magazine
recently wrote: “Praise God I read in the Reaper where
$1.00 would buy 12 lessons of a Bible course for someone in
China…Your China Printing Project is exciting to me.
Enclosed is $100.00 for this project. Praise God for His
goodness.” – 73 year old man from Alabama.

Cambodia:
Earnestly pray as work
resumes at the end of August on the English/Khmer NL-1 course. Ask
God for the soon completion, and distribution of this course where
the Gospel is rapidly advancing in Cambodia.
