Praise for possibility of new Spanish graders for the Kansas DTC which processed almost 5,000 Spanish lessons in 6 months, and more are being added each week.

  • Madison DTC – Director John Cranmer reports 11,681 lessons graded in September with 810 certificates awarded, and 30 professions of faith in Christ! His prayer requests are: 1)Funding for postage and literature 2) Health issues of staff members 3) Support for Ken and Carla Wills to join us. Here is a testimony from the prison ministry:

Before I came to jail, I did not know where to begin in the Bible – so my uncle sent me some information on Bible studies through the mail. I had lived a life of sin (Romans 3:23). I did not think God could possibly forgive me. Boy, was I wrong! God loves everyone (John 3:16). So I accepted Jesus as my Saviour during a church sermon and now I have a much more peaceful day. Every morning I pray to God and every night I pray to God. Now I can find verses and books in the Bible ,and I feel like I have a part of me I have been missing so long -the Lord Jesus Chris!. I became His child (John 1:12).” – Asheville, North Carolina

  • New Mexico DTC – Directors, Darryl and Joan Evans, praise God for the excellent and committed volunteer office staff; they report that volunteer Henrietta Comer rejoices with the angels on high when a person receives Christ. During September 21 students made professions of faith! Testimony: “I found this Bible study in the dayroom of the jail I’m in. Please send me the second course to do. I just turned my life back to God. This time it’s for good – it’s the only right way to live! I’m trying to turn my wife to Christ, but it’s hard to do from jail. Will you please help me by sending her some Bible studies?” They request prayer for 1) a person to develop a website for the DTC 2) continued promotion of the ministry in the Las Cruces SLM worker, Rosita Beam, reports two new men at the prison received Christ as Saviour the first week in September, and the she had 22 men in her Bible study recently. Please pray 1) that the new administrator of the jail will be gracious to the SLM ministry 2) her sister, Oliva, will be receiving chemotherapy this month following her cancer surgery Aug.4.

  • Alaska DTC – Directors Don and Rose Nabinger report many encouraging events, especially from Cheryl Reichman with the Seward Seamans Mission. She reports: “A young man from Romania accepted Christ this spring. Another man from the Philippines, Steve (in his 30s) came every night, then accepted Christ and took lessons in Tagalog. Two men from Guatemala in their 40s took NL-3, lesons 1-3. Freddie experienced the new birth. Spanish lessons were given to some…A man from Indonesia, saved in 2000, is back and received lessons earlier this season. He is now on #14! He wants to teach young people back home. ‘I want to be a pastor, ‘ he said. Monang, from a heavy Muslim area, wants the ‘right church.’” Cheryl says, “God is bringing the world to us!”
