for their recent missionary trip throughout Bolivia and for the
progress of the SLM work in these rural regions where they traveled.
He also asks prayer for his wife’s health and that his
children may continue to walk with the Lord. Praise God for the new
SLM ministry in Trinidad Beni.
Brazil: John
Leonard, Jim Leonard’s brother who was shot in
the neck in July in Brazil, now has a motorized wheelchair and is
living in his own home. Please pray for extensive dental work (10
root canals) because one of the bullets broke his jaw and many
teeth. An added praise is that a nurse named Ruth received Christ in
September! Jim is praising the Lord for 1) some
generous gifts for the construction of the church plant buildings n
Juazeiro do Norte and the New Jerusalem Baptist Church 2) a great
testimony of a former Catholic priest who read some SLM Bible
lessons (because some of his members had questions), was saved, and
is ministering the Gospel today in an independent Bible Church. He
will visit their school in January to collaborate on lesson
distribution. Pray for: 1) just $4,000 needed to complete the
roof of the SLM Baptist Ch 2) the Leonards return to Brazil Nov.1.
Chile: Continue
to uphold the Salazars in their very busy pastoral and
SLM work. Ask God to enable them to reach many in the south, and
other unreached areas.
Guatemala: We
praise the Lord for Bob and Wanda McRae who are
undertaking the revitalization of the SLM DTC in Guatemala. I know
they would appreciate your prayers as they print a great volume of
courses for distribution. The McRaes served many years under AMG
International in Guatemala.
Guyana: Give
thanks with Winston Abel that God has enabled SLM to
distribute food, clothing, etc. needed by churches and associate
schools. Winston asks for prayer for finances to begin an SLM
radio broadcast to counteract the doctrinal confusion in the country.
- Haiti: Uphold the Spaldings as the church prays
and seeks a Haitian pastor, and for Art as he continues to share the
ministry of SLM with so many pastors. Ask God to provide 10,000
copies of all the SLM lessons annually to Haiti, as the demand is so
great. The Spaldings appreciate your prayers that their 2 boys will
desire to study for at least a year in a Bible college upon
graduation.

America very hard: 1) whether to be involved in relief efforts 2)
for roads to be passable to travel to a conference in La Union on
Oct 15. Please continue to pray for the children’s health and
spiritual growth. Praise for a good anniversary celebration of the
