Michael (prisoner)
Praise the Lord and thank you for providing the studies I have been able to do. I have learned a great deal from them all. I will continue to keep all who are involved in my prayers that get them to people. There have been many great things I have learned through the studies but I can say that the greatest joy I will have is meeting those that we have lead to Christ and naturally the very greatest joy will be to be with Christ in God’s House.

I only await that day, ever watchful and ready! Thank you for the continued spiritual guidance. May God bless all that you do as you serve Him.

John (prisoner)
I’ve learned through this course that God is Jesus Christ and that He became human to experience the trials and tribulations we would have to endure to please Him. But all He really wants is our faith in Him and He will save us and give us eternal salvation. To live for Him in this world and He will reward us in the next.

But as a prisoner, I am constantly let down in my search for justice and truth by man. I pray often for everyone, including my enemies. I try to walk the right path for eternal salvation and also to hope Jesus will provide me with help to get out of prison and expose the truth. All I can do is pray and continue my walk. But the Bible is right when it says evil will rule the earth. It happens all around us.

I got life without parole sentence for a police officer who covered for his son. I’ve spent 16 years fighting for the truth and holding onto my faith, constantly searching and praying for help, wondering when the Lord will step in and help. All I guess I can do is walk the path, keeping the faith and try to live for the Lord and the next life.

Darren (prisoner)
I am enjoying the lessons as always! I hope and pray that I will get many more lessons to work on and keep busy. I hope to keep on helping as many others to learn all they can and help them to become students of the Source of Light as well. I hope to send you as many new students as I can in the future. I have my Gideon Bible with me at all times to help others as the Lord leads me to help each and every one!

Carlos (Hispanic prisoner)
I accepted Christ as my Savior a little bit more than a year ago and I want to confess that these studies have been very much of a blessing to me. I am dedicated to searching and studying the Word of God and apart from these studies I have become aware that I have grown a lot in my spiritual boundaries for the glory and honor of God.

Angel (age nine)
OK, my dad just went to jail and can you pray for him?

Maryellen (teen)
Please pray for me as I seek to do God’s will for my life in school. I am starting to work with children and teach them about God through Good News Clubs and Awana.

Dytonia (prisoner)
I’m tired of smoking crack. I don’t want to steal anymore from anyone and I want to grow in my faith of Jesus.
Pray for my children and their mothers.

Vennice (adult)
My granddaughter, who is 12 years old, is the most disobedient child I have ever seen. She is angry it seems always, acts just like she is just waiting for anyone to cross her. Her parents and I are Christians and she was raised in a Christian home and says she is a Christian.

Her behavior is unbelievably hard to understand. Her parents and I have tried to talk to her reminding her is expected of her as a born again Christian but nothing has helped. She is now in professional counseling but it is to early to make a difference. It is heartbreaking to see her behave as she does.

Sonja (prisoner)
I haven’t seen or heard from my kids. My desire is that the lines of communication be restored so that I can talk to my kids and my husband to come for a visit with me.

Ramiro (prisoner – copied as written so you can feel his pain)
I’m really believe I’m a Christian and having hope and my family and they is with me forever, like my Father said: Matthew 12:48so him said, Who is my mother? And who are my brethren? And he stretched forth his hand toward his disciples and said, Behold my mother and my brethren! For whosoever shall do the will of my father which is in heaven, the same is my brother and my sister and mother.

My brother I will tell you that: What is my life and how I feel when I finish to filling up of the Book course 2 lesson 9. My heart is was really pain, and I feel sad because I know killed nobody my life but judge sentence me life without parole. Had not my translate because when police rest me I don’t speak Spanish either speak English. But they want to cover all that. I know I having not family to help me in here the world but in the heaven my lord will come to help me with my mom. She is with my lord jesus and also my brother Rutilie and my sister Rufina they is in heaven with our lord jesus Christ right now because when they dieth I believe they go with my lord: My brother please praying for me. Please ask for my righteousness. Thank you for your help my brother. I love you and all my Christian family1

Annie (adult)
There are times I get so depressed. I feel so alone. My children are there for me and I am thankful. I had four brothers and one sister. There were six of us and now there are only two left. My sister does not remember me. My children are wonderful to me but I have such an empty feeling. Sometimes I feel so alone, like it says in Psalm 55: Oh, that I had wings like a dove. There I would fly away and be at rest. But where would the dove fly to?

Rose (adult)
My husband Israel was diagnosed with diabetes four years ago. His eyes have been affected. Diabetes was taking over his psychological behavior. It affects me too. I’m praying that the Lord will loose his eyesight, restore his vision so he can continue his mission. He is a pastor.

Donna (adult)
My husband, Shawn and myself are now unemployed with no medical benefits. We are believing for the help and guidance we need to get through this setback and employment to come very soon. Please agree with us on this request.

Thomas (prisoner)
I haven’t been the perfect son to my parents. I lied, stolen,…. They say they still love me but I haven’t been home to see them in 20 years. We still communicate through letters. But I feel a tremendous amount of guilt. for this. For the last 20 years all I’ve worried about was myself. I feel ashamed.

Derrick (prisoner)
I need God to move in my case and I get released from prison. This is the only thing I want for myself. I have 40 years and never been in trouble before. All this was over a five minute mistake. I deserve punishment, but not 40 years.

Lynn (prisoner)
I am fighting to get my kids back when I am released in January. I don’t know where we will live or if I still have my job. I am also going through a divorce due to my husband doing some bad things to hurt our family.

Chris (prisoner)
I accepted Christ at an early age and grew up in the church. I never knew what it was like to have a relationship with the Lord. I was 13 at church camp and on July 13, 2003 I rededicated my life to the Lord and started again to have a personal relationship with the Lord. Sine than, I have been up and down but continue to press on knowing that He is the one person who will never gives up on me.

Alejandro (Hispanic prisoner)
One of my daughters used to go to church but now has left off going there. She has become discouraged whereas she used to be happy in doing your studies. She is sixteen and we know at this age is a time in which they have many problems but my Lord is bigger and He will help my children in everything.

I ask a lot from my Heavenly Father that He will allow me to give up my old ways because there are many temptations that Satan puts in our way but we will be triumphant in the end and we will receive our recompense from the King of Kings. I am preaching the Word of God and when I open my mouth I want to come out what He wants me to say. I ask your prayers

Norge (Hispanic prisoner)
Hello brethren, I am here serving the Lord and I give him all the thanks and glory that my God deserves. It is through what I am writing that I wish to say that I did not deserve to live but He has given it to me after I was dead in offenses and sins but He has freed me from that. For 17 years I was doing what ever I wanted and all I heard about and all that my eyes saw was idoltry.

I was free and worshiped a doll called St. Lazarus and the coper virgin that many people in Cuba worship. On December 5th, 2002 I decided to leave Cuba with 11 friends that I had known since infancy. The night was peaceful and the sea was calm. I prayed for the saints to protect us and immediately the sea became pink and the people cried out, “My God!”

There was a strong wind with lightning and thunder and I prayed to all of the gods of stone that I had heard of but none answered. I finally decided to pray to God and everything became calm again. We were twelve days in this hell without anything to eat, drink and without a motor or sail. I don’t know how we got to the USA but I realize that it was only God. When I got here, I found I did not have money, peace, car, nor the good life or women that I thought I would have.

I thought that my life would always be empty but God had other plans. He has given me a new life when I received Christ as my Savior and now He is my one and only Savior. I don’t remember Satan because God has liberated me and I no longer belong to the devil. Now I have a song from Heaven. I want to receive news from you and receive your booklets (now has been enrolled). Your brother that you don’t know.

William (prisoner)
Thank you for my lesson. The booklet you enclosed on “Spiritual Passion truly helped me. Do you have anything on prayer? I’m excited that I’m almost done with this course and am anxious to begin the next one!

Teresa (teen)
I have a question. Do you have to be baptized to be saved? If you confesss your sins as in Romans 10:9 says to do, do you have to immediately be baptizrd afterwards to be saved?

Alan (adult)
I want to remain alcohol free. This lesson really hit home for me because Satan is always trying to get us back to our old ways. Please accept this small donation.

Rafael (Hispanic prisoner, after completing New Life 1, lesson 19, 20)
In relationship to lesson 19 & 20, lesson 20 was a blessing to me because it is just right for people like me that are looking for God in a very special way with so much a desire to be saved and forgiven by Jesus Christ. Lesson 20 was so special to me because the steps here are so practical. Some of the steps I have already done and others I am now putting into practice. Some of them are new to me. I began with the Gospel of John and then I followed up reading the book of Matthew. I finished reading the book of Revelation. Soon I will be finished reading the Old Testsament too. This has been a very useful lesson. Thank you very much for sending it.

Donna (adult)
I want to thank all of you for the support you have given me throughtout the time I have been doing the the decipleship lessons. Not only are the lessons awesome, easy to understand and cross reference with my Bible but I have sent in prayer requests as well as my questions.

I am so impressed and grateful for the people there that actually take time to answer me (handwritten) and also the materials that you send me are just a blessing. I will continue to keep your ministry in my prayers and continue doing the lessons as long as you continue sending them to me. I know $10.00 is not a whole lot of money but I have been wanting to help out your ministry the best I can. I have had medical issues going on which has kept me from employment. Finances haven’t been available to me. A friend blessed me and I want to bless you.

Our God is good and faithful. I know it wont be long until my body grows stronger as it does everyday. Thank you for the blessing you hsve been in my life and the handwritten letters of support. My daughter is doing the lessons on love, dating and marriage and I’m excited that this has opened an opportunity for some good mother- daughter conversations over the phone several times a week. God is Good! (all the time).

If there is anything I can do to support or help your ministry, such as mailings, tracts, anything, let me know. (She included her phone number)

Wilton (Hispanic prisoner)
I want you to pray for my matrimony. My wife doesn’t want me to talk to her about Christ because she says that she has already received Him. She is rebellious. I have not returned to the world. I want God to hear me and bring her back to his way to live her life in Christ. I want to be close to my wife and three children because I know that this is the time of God. I want God to help me in this trial that has touched my life. I have much faith in God because He has changed my life. I want to follow in God’s way if God permits when I return to society.

Dorothy (adult)
I want to know the rigjht way to be a good example and source of Christian strength for my daugghter who lost her home and for my son whose birthday is today. He is in prison.

C. W. (Haitian prisoner)
I am writing you to thank you for helping me to better understand the Word of God. This study is a spiritual source that can nourish me the rest of my life. It has been a long time since I accepted Christ but I had no experiece with the Word of God. During these days I have learned some very important things, things that I have never known. My brothers and sisters, I am accountable to you for having prepared me in this way for the work of the Lird.

I would like to mention something very important, it being Romans 8:28; All things work together for godd to those who love God. I have known this verse a long time but I have never had the opportunity to discern it well, but through your intervention, I can now understand it. Now, through that which I have learned through the Source of Light. I am ready to share with the Christians of my country all that I have learned of the Word of God. These lessons have brought about a great change in my life in regard to my faith and the fear of God.

My desire is that God will open my knowledge more and more so that I can teach His Word in truth for that is my dream.

Enrique (Hispanic priosoner)
It hurts so much because I miss my wife and children and I feel this is an injustice. I am believing in the Lord, so please pray for my reunion with them and with the people that I love very much and feel so important to me.
I am in the hands of the Lord but it is not easy. My children are small but every day I am waiting on the mercy of the Lord.
My birthday was June 6 but I have not lacked anything. Please pray for the city where I lived in Mexico that Jehovah will do as He sees fit with them. I have a real burden for them.

James (prisoner)
Thank you for the Life Recovery New Testament and the Biblical Guide through the twelve steps workbook. I like the Bible and work book very much and will use them daily as I struggle to find courage to face the truth about myself, the the humility to abandon my flawed attempts at living and the willingness to find God’s truth and live accordingly as I take the first step in the transformation from death to life, and from addiction to recovery.
Look forward to applying each of the twelve steps to my life, walking with God, and humbly accepting and doing His will along my journey to recovery as I find freedom, healing, and peace of mind. I will use the workbook to my benefit. Thank you very much.

Jerry (prisoner)
I have learned from thse lessons that when Jesus comes again, there will be a great separation of believers from unbelievers. There is the judgement seat of Christ for those that believe and the unbelievers will go through a great time of trouble here on earth. The judgement of the Great White Throne are for those that are unbelievers where Christ himself will judge the guilty and will be lost forever. Christ Second coming will be a great time of terror and judgement for those who never accepted Christ.

The fearful unbelievers, wicked and liars will be thrown into the lake of fire and brimestone. Heaven is a city of great beauty where we will know our loved ones and to meet those we have led to Christ. God himself will dwell with us and with all who’s names are written in the Book of Life will dwell with God.

Manual (prisoner)
How much love there is for us in Christ! God’s love is always there. Mainly I’ve had the pleasure of learning of the Word of God. I’ve started to gain understanding of the Scripture and it has helped me in my daily walk in Christ. Your courses have offered a sinner, such as myself a way to keep the Word of God in my heart.

Jesse (age 12)
Christ is in every believer in the world and there are unbelievers. He still loves them. Also you can’t just know the truth and not do it. That would be an apostate.

Wakbulcho (Ethiopia student)
I expect that these papers arrive at the eve of the Christian holiday – the Christmas. I look forward to that joyous holiday as you celebrate being in the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. I am writing this to really make you know that for months and years you have been with me in the service of Christ.
Being in a humble and gentle heart, I say that praising the ministry – now I am a child of God.
I took several courses without paying a penny. If I were taking the service to a brother soul – better say an unbeliever- would you still send the course free? I trust that you will do whatever is right in the sight of God and the ministry. May the Lord be with all of us throughout our lives on earth.

Joseph (prisoner)
Thank you for the Bible study course! For about a year now I have been having a closer walk with God by gaining a firmer foundation in His Word. There are a lot of false beliefs about God, man, and our eternal destiny and I trust Jesus. Your study points me to my need for my Savior and His work and love for me and everyone who trusts Him.

Sometimes I complicate things and stress myself out and I believe God is not that complicated regarding man’s salvation. The message in the Bible (Gospel) is plain and open to all people. Again I thank you for your clear truth and Biblically based message. Jesus is king of the universe and man’s best Friend. Please continue to pray for me, concerning my faith walk with Jesus.

Ciara (age 10)
Please pray for my family. My daddy is locked up for a long time and my mommy needs help with her bills because daddy can’t help her anymore and pray for my sister and brother and me that we will do good in school.

Ricardo (Spanish prisoner)
First of all I want to desire that God will bless you brethren at all times. I have been in prison for two years in this prison without knowing the results of my sentence. The lawyer has told me that they do not have any evidence of which to accuse me so I do not know why they do not set me free. I also am worried about my family. I do not have any communication with them. They are not from this country. What worries me more is that I have four children; nine, seven, five, and three. I start to cry when I remember them.

Sam (prisoner)
I just want to take a minute to thank you for the lessons that I have been receiving because the Word is where I get my strength. I have been moving around but I am glad you all found me (sent him a duplicate lesson) because I love doing your lessons and I’m pretty sure I have a 100% on this one. Thank you very much.

Thomas (prisoner)
My desire is that the Lord favor me in my “commutation appeal” to the Governor to have my “life without parole” sentence changed to “life with a 30 year minimum” so I can see the parole board and demonstrate to them how Jesus has changed my life and then release me to be the man and father, God created me to be. I’ve been in prison 21 years now.

Mark (prisoner)
My fiancée, Beth, has not written or called for weeks and I am worried. She has indicated that she wants to join the church but I’m worried that she is doing drugs. I love her and I want to show her the comfort of the Lord.

David (Spanish prisoner)
I would like to thank my teacher for being filled with the Holy Spirit in such a beautiful way to teach me how to grow spiritually. There isn’t a Christian church in Spanish here in prison. May God bless you( thanks).

“He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the Lord; and that which he hath given will he pay him again”. Proverbs 19:17

Shannon (adult)
My husband and youngest son are in jail. My husband is looking at a long time. He did not hurt anyone to be there but made bad choices on how to live. December 15, my middle son has a 90% of going to jail. I’m losing my family, my health is declining, and I feel like giving up.

Owen (adult)
I am having trouble with my critical spirit. I’m very critical of others and also myself as well. I’m in a discipleship program and am working diligently on it. But it is a difficult job, especially after serving six years in the US Marine Corp. I need prayer.

Rosemary (prisoner)
My case is in the Appeal Court and I am praying that the courts will see that I’ve learned my lesson and I’m a model prisoner with no reprimands in the last two and a half years. I want to go to Divine Mercy Ministries

Patrick (prisoner)
The more I turn to Christ, the more I feel separated from those around me. Even the Christian inmates think I’m strange. I’m losing fellowship with them as I follow Christ. I want friends but I also want to grow in Christlikness.

I feel I must be doing something wrong. More and more people in the body of Christ tell me so. They are all telling me to lighten up and not try so hard. I’m not trying to impress anyone or make anyone feel bad but I seem to be doing something wrong People are rejecting me because I study and try to memorize Scripture, pray often and refuse to do “little” things to make life easier, that are against the rules. Also I do with things deen necessary, etc.

Katrina (prisoner)
As for me, I want to stay clean and shake the crack cocaine. I want to be strong so I can be part of my children’s lives. I need to find favor in the judge’s eyes. The state attorney was trying to throw the book at me. I know God can and will have mercy upon me.

My 20-year-old daughter removed the anger she had toward me. I never asked to come into this world to be an addict. I want to live for God and do His calling upon my life. Mark is giving me problems. I have a year and a half-old son. Since he has been clean off drugs, he has a big head and being nasty towards me now.

Gerald (prisoner)
I am going to prison for five or more years and I want you to pray for my four kids and my wife. My heart’s desire is for them to be safe until I get home. I love them almost as much as I do the Lord Jesus Christ

Brenna (twelve year old girl)
Both my parents are in prison. I live with my ten-year-old brother. We got adopted by his grandma. My four-year-old sister lives in Muskegon. I don’t feel like I belong. PLEASE pray for me.

Janis (older teen)
I am learning discipline from God through my circumstances. I want the right attitude when chastened or disciplined through my authorities or co-workers.

James (prisoner)
My mother is dying. Her name is Rosie. I am in a lot of trouble that could get me prison time and when I get out, I will be homeless.

Sami-Marcia (prisoner)
Enclosed is my completed course 2, lesson 9. It’s a little tardy as I was being transferred. I am now at a transitional house and am going to school to become a dental assistant. I’m still considered to be an inmate, however I now go to a vocational college and will be allowed to work in the community. I waited to send you my completed lesson, as I didn’t want to miss any by them being sent to the wrong address. These lessons are extremely important to me as I grow in my relationship with Christ. May God continue to bless you and yours and show you great favor.

By The Master’s Hand

Brown and dirty, viewed to be less, no form, no shape to see,
Yet out of the clay, a piece is picked and fashioned into me.
Thrown by the wayside wanted by none, the Most High picked me to be formed,
And from a dirty old lump of clay, a new man was born.

It was the Potter who made the choice, the clay dare not ask why.
Just give thanks to God above through Jesus Christ on High.
Now I’m a trophy in His case, high above, formed by His hand, saved by His love.

God, give me the courage to live up to your name,
And put away my old self, so full of sorrow and scared by shame.
So when the storms are raging and your life seems out of control,
Place yourself in Jesus hands, for He alone can save your soul.

Then when this life is over and all has been said and done,
We can go home with Him; our new lives have begun.
Life everlasting in the presence of God, that’s His perfect plan.
It all came together when I was molded by the Master’s hand.

What is the most important thing I have learned in this lesson? That question had appeared in a number of lessons but in error on my part until someone wrote a note asking me to write what I have learned. It will not be happening again. I do appreciate everything you’ve done in guiding me in my spiritual life.
As you know I am in Colorado system which is by far one of the easiest places to do time. Not that I have done time anywhere else. It’s just that we are blessed, at least I am blessed with the comforts of life. I have the best job in the D O C. I train dogs, which means I have the greatest cellie at all times. I get a decent wage as far as pay in the Dept. of Corrections, but better than this is the blessing and joy one gets from having a dog with you at all times. At the moment I have a 2-½ year old mini Blue Heeler named Sitka. She has special needs because she is deaf. Her family sent her in for basic Obedience Training. She knows hand signals for sit, down, stay, come, heel, swing, up, off, kennel and place.
She goes home on the 9th with a video and journal to help her family maintains her training so she will be the companion they wanted. Sometimes I get wrapped up in my job so much that my personal study time gets out of whack, so believe me when I say your study material really makes a difference in my life. It reminds me that I have to spend time studying God’s Word. So I take it when you are sending me a study you are doing two things:
1. Reminding me to study
2. Looking out for my spiritual welfare and growth. THANKS!
I’ve rambled enough so I will close and get this study out to you for grading. Thanks be to God for each of you who work at the Ministry.

Marco (Spanish prisoner)
Thank you for the course called The New Life In Christ and thank you for the certificate you sent me. Thank you very much brethren with all my heart and soul. Do you know something that you will probably not believe? This is the first certificate that I have received in all my life so that is why I thank you.
May God take care of you, guard you and put His angels around your lives and around your families in general. I will continue praying for you, your families and pastor. Thank you for sending this course and certificate. I now finish for the moment.

Silviano (Spanish prisoner) – We rote him a letter and sent him a tract.
I want to receive Jesus as my Savior. I have a problem with alcohol and I am now here in prison. Now I am repentant and want to find God through you people because I know that only God can forgive me of my sins.

Ray ( 83-year adult)
Pray for my upcoming three month trip to U K, Belgium, Germany, Ustria, Croasia, Italy, Malta, and Israel to preach the Gospel.

James (adult prisoner)
I need the Lord’s help to bring out the anger that I have carried inside me all these years. My sister, dad and two brothers have died over the years and I wasn’t there for them or get to tell them I loved them. I need help in dealing with this.

Karis (missionary kid)
We need to boil our bath water, pray that it will not be so hard. We do not have hot water for a week. Also pray for my friend, Fiona that she would come to know Jesus!

Eduado (Spanish prisoner)
Dear brethren involved with the Source of Light Ministries International, God bless and illuminate you for your excellent work of love in trying to help those who need help spiritually. Today I want to thank you for this. Two years and four months ago I arrived in this country because I was expelled from my own country (Columbia) because it’s government. I knew very little of the Word of God. I met with others to study the Word of God but that was not enough. I wanted to learn more.
During this time I asked for help from many churches but they just sent me samples of prayers. I came across a guide on how to study the Bible but that wasn’t enough either. A fellow prisoner told me about the Source of Light as it was with great happiness and thankfulness to God that I received my first lessons. It was the type of course that I wanted – very clear, easy to understand and in a compact form. It is helping me to grow spiritually and to continue on with my life with Christ.

Robert (prisoner)
What is the most important thing I have learned in this course? Let me start off by saying I have learned a lot from this course and it’s hard to pinpoint any particular matter of importance. So I’ll say the most important thing I have learned is that Jesus is everything in my life, my all and in all. my go to Guy in everything I do, say, act, think, etc. I have to be like Him in everything . It is important to pass on the Word of God and to glorify Him. I’m not to live the way of the world. To live literally as Jesus did when He was in the world as a human.
I have learned so much from your course. I can’t wait to begin course #3. Through your courses I have been changed for the better. But in all seriousness, everything in the course is important to me. There is so much more to learn.

Terry (prisoner)
Please find enclosed my answers to Book #4, lessons 7,8, titled God’s First Man and God’s Second Man. As always, it is my sincere hope that all my answers are correct.
I am happy to see that I got all the answers correct in Book #3, lesson 5,6. I have been studying the Bible everyday so that I can learn the answers to these Bible study lessons and broaden my understanding of the Bible. I do not want to make any mistakes if possible. Please send my next Bible study lesson as soon as possible.

Tony (prisoner)
I’m not living like I should. I curse, tell filthy jokes and I truly want to stop. Will you please pray for me and that God’s will be done in my life.

Daniel (prisoner)
I want to thank you all for the encouragement and yes, I will stay in the Word of God and read my Bible everyday. Thank you all for the Bible lessons you send me. I like to be encouraged by the Word of God. Keep encouraging me.

Robert (prisoner)
I want to make it on the hill. I’ll be in the general population as of the 3rd of October. Right now I am in P C (protective custody). People on the hill don’t like P C. In fact some hate it literally. P C here is like living in the hole. It is difficult living. The restrictions are great and the privileges are next to nothing, considering life on the hill.
Tara, my daughter is 22 and I’ve tried to encourage her to get her G E D. She is an unwed mother of two. Pray that she’ll continue to go to church and find a godly husband.

Sergey (former student from the Ukraine)
Back in 1991-1992 I received three courses of lessons from the Source of Light Ministry. I was young engineer on a big plant. Some day I noticed an article in a Ukrainian paper that invited to find the Truth. I was attracted by the article and also interested to practice my English so I wrote a letter and started to correspond with SLM completing one lesson after another.
I did not understand many things about the Bible and Christianity at that time but I believe these lessons got me prepared. And when I was invited to Christian church it was like continuing of my lessons and seeking the Truth. Upon several weeks I answered to alter call and joined one of Kiev’s churches. I belong to this church until now.
The reason I write you are my desire to say thank you to my teacher from SLM, which I think you, can find in your records. I would be very happy to express my gratitude to him and his contribution to my life.

Katrina (adult)
The most important thing I learned (because I already knew Christ left Heaven to suffer and die for my wretched sins) is that trials I will face in the future will contribute to the rewards I receive in Heaven – so stay focused on Christ even if it offends someone else.
Another thing I have learned is that I need to put more focus on Christ and less on worrying about the future. This was a great lesson as are all the others but this one particularly exhorting and comforting.

Tamara (young adult)
Please pray for me to be saved. I really want and need to give myself to Christ. But somehow it seems really hard to do. (Editor note: a counseling note was sent to her)

Jeffrey (prisoner)
I am praying for my children and their forgiveness. I let them down for coming back to prison. I had to go back to court to get all my earned gain time, which is four years, two months off this, six and a half years.

Octavio (Spanish prisoner)
I have restrictions to receive visitors from my children and my children are depressed. Because of this grave problem I need to receive help soon so I can get out of here quickly. I think that they have given me a sentence like I was one of the worst criminals. Twenty-four years is a long time. I have asked help from a lot of organizations and until now all that I have received is a pure NO but I hope to receive a YES that they can help me. Please excuse me for bothering you.

Jeffry (prisoner)
Alcoholics and their families need our prayers. Satan is at work, which cause these souls including myself before Jesus healed me – so much blindness (spiritually) and misery. What have I learned from this course?
To love and live for my Lord and Savior
Jesus Christ. In all that I do, waiting for His return.

Zsabriela (prisoner)
My mom has been using drugs ever since I can remember. I am currently 22 years old and am serving a life sentence. My mom has gotten into some trouble and she’s currently at the jail waiting trial. This is too much on me. Her name is Betty. She is a good person and has an addiction. We both need your prayers.

Francisco (Spanish prisoner)
Since I am in prison, my wife and children are home alone. Pray that they won’t get discouraged in the things of God. I have not heard from my mother in 20 months. She doesn’t know anything about me either.

Jora (age 11)
I have a habit to steal things like cookies and other stuff. Pray for me.

Cherye (prisoner)
I’m here in prison and it’s so hard here to concentrate. I get off tract in my attention when praying and studying. Also I’m extremely depresses all the time. I would like to be free from all this and my children need to know God too.

Elizabeth (prisoner)
My mother died about a month ago and now I’m without anyone to call or talk to. I’m out of finances and need a pair of shoes which are $49.50 The holes are much bigger now and it rained hard today.

Linda (adult)
I have extremely excruciating pain in my arms, legs and feet cramping and hurting. I am having problems in my marriage. Not having friends is a problem and having relationships My husband doesn’t talk to me much but when he does, he first screams. I need lots and lots of emotional healing. My husband does read the Bible but we don’t go to church anymore.

Leslie (adult)
On April 1, I had an aunt die with cancer and not even a week later my cat died. Than two days after my cat died, I had an apartment fire. Then if that was not enough, I’m going through a separation with my husband who has been cheating.

William (Spanish prisoner)
I received Jesus as my personal Savior and these studies day by day help me and strengthen me more and more with the Word of God.

Corinthia (prisoner)
My concern for my family is that they remain in good health as well as spirits. I have three children that they continue to understand what’s going on in their life and during my absence. I pray that they will always know that I love them and accept me as their mother.

Pouvi (prisoner)
Cellmate Brandon is gay but I’ve been sharing the Word with him and he loves it. Pray that the Lord will touch his heart and make a change in his life.

Michael (prisoner)
I need God to put the desire and love in my heart for those who are not saved and for other Christians. Being in prison sometimes make me question my salvation. There are times that there are people that I don’t even want to talk to.

Tabitha (student from Pakistan)
I have learned various things from this course. What I like most is that the Holy Spirit is always with me and guides me. Also I like that Jesus Christ is the great Intercessor and the example to abide in Christ is the most I like. Examples help me to understand the course easily.
The whole course was very blessed to me. God bless the WHOLE team of Source of Light Ministries for such a good course.

Michael (prisoner)
I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for sponsoring these Bible studies. They have been such a blessing to me and helped me to increase my understanding and knowledge of God’s Word. It helped me see the importance of the work of Christ did through the teachings and His death on the cross.
These lessons have been beneficial in teaching me how to live a faith-based life grounded in the Word of God and personal relationship with Christ as my personal Savior.
They have given me the necessary tools I need to face each new day and the challenges that it brings. I no longer have to give in to the fear of the unknowns but can enbrace each new day as an opportunity to forge a stronger relationship and dependence on the Lord.

Courtney (age 12)
I’m an attractive girl but I don’t want to get into sexual stuff. I have really bad bites from “red bugs”. They invisible and come from moss. I keep picking at them because they itch. My mother, Brenda, got a temporary job
(maintenance) work at the church but she REALLY wants a teaching job.
My brother, Ben, is going through basic training and has four more weeks. My cousins need Jesus but they much older than me and live in Michigan so it’s hard to witness to them. I’m going into a middle school.

Alma (adult)
I have been trying for a long time to quit smoking. I’ve tried all kinds of things like patches; pills, gum and I even tried Jesus. I guess I am not doing something right.

Lawrence (prisoner)
I’ve learned from these lessons that I need to be a good steward of my time. Why I say this is that Jesus is coming back soon and it may be today or tomorrow. We need to be prepared to meet the Lord and hear Him say, “Well done thou good and faithful servant.” That is what I strive for. We need to be busy about the Lord’s work and being faithful to Him and His Word. I want to draw close to Him.

Wilfredo (Spanish prisoner)
I thank God for the opportunity to learn more about Him through these studies. It is through these studies that I have received many blessings because I have learned a lot about myself. This is helping me to get stronger every day. I have passed through many trials but I have been able to overcome them.

Alicia (adult after completion of New Life in Christ 2)
These lessons mean the world to me. They are a blessing each morning I read and study God’s Word. God always seems to speak to my heart on something I have studied in these lessons. I was saved as a little girl because something was going on in the world that made me think that Christ would be returning at any moment. I was sure I was not ready to go to Heaven to be with Him. I read John 3:16 and asked Christ to take me to Heaven that day.
As I study these lessons I know CHRIST IS COMING AGAIN SOON! And I will be at the judgement seat of Christ. God has spoken to my heart and I don’t want to stand before Him ashamed. I want to spend the rest of my life pleasing Him and winning others to Him. I want to be able to place my rewards at my heavenly Father’s feet and give Him praise, honor and glory for all He has done for me.

Chris (prisoner)
I’m going through a hard time of a divorce of anger. My wife is also in prison but God can move on her heart. We have two children, a boy eight and a girl three. We can make our marriage work for our children. As well. We were married for nine years. My wife has been locked up for 15 months so far.

Ronnie (prisoner)
My ex-wife wants to remarry me but she’s having problems letting her now husband go. She filed for divorce and says she loves me but she misses him. She said she couldn’t go back to him because she is following what God has told her. She is a Christian and she loves God before all. She said that God revealed to her “forbidden love” written in my handwriting. She knows God is directing her back into my life but she misses him. She visits me every weekend here in prison. I know she loves me. We were married for 25 years. She has committed to marrying me this year or early 2011.

John (prisoner)
I am in jail for having my prescription medications in one bottle. They have me charged with two felonies. The charges are supposed to be dropped but I have been in jail for three months. This has put a financial burden on my mother and brother because they depend on my income to make ends meet.

Marcus (prisoner)
I have been on drugs since I was 16 years old. I’m now 40. Today I’m in jail facing some charges. I need God to give me strength, mentally to never forsake Him again and to deny the flesh.

Joe (prisoner)
My children need to come back to me and to build a relationship again. On June 20th (Father’s Day) they came to see me. This was the first time in over a year. I praise God.

Brittney (age 14)
My big sister is coming and I think I told her last year that I lost a game she gave me. I’m not sure but I also lost a stylus and I broke a nick-knack she gave me. I hope she doesn’t ask.

Dominique (prisoner)
My boyfriend’s family lied about me choking a little nine-year-old boy. They also said that I threw him on the floor. I’m facing cruelty to child charges. I’m afraid that the D. F. C. S. will take my three year old daughter and my newborn child who is due in a month. If I lose the case, my children are gone and so is my career.

Emma (age 14)
My mom worked at MCFS for four years. I’m going into the ninth grade and I’m scared that I’m going to miss her a lot.

Kim (adult)
I need to find employment along with millions of others. I enjoy doing these lessons and I have learned a lot from each of them. Thanks for the Daily Bread and the tract along with the certificate but I do these lessons not only for fun and something to do but also to learn and do them for His honor and glory and the reward in Heaven.

Lucio (Spanish prisoner)
I have a strong temperament and need help. I have a wife and three children that are alone. Their hearts are sad because I am not with them. I hope they are well.

Geerin (Translated from French)

Yes I am saved because the Word of Eternal God is certain. Jesus knocked at my door and I opened it. He came in and now He lives in me; therefore I am saved. Because He said it in His Word, He is my Savior.

Laudicea (Translated from Portuguese)
Thank you for the booklet that I received with the marvelous studies that really enriched and made the Holy Spirit to be revealed in me. They were very practical lessons that blessed me a whole lot! Every time that I would send in the answers to every test I would anxiously await the new booklet that would come. It’s been a real blessing.

Arturo (Spanish prisoner)
I want God to help me to be obedient and not commit the same crimes that I committed before. That is the reason why I am here (prison). I want my faith and obedience to grow and for God to open up my heart to ask forgiveness and to forgive others too. I want to be able to reestablish my matrimony again if it is the Lord’s will and one day to leave prison. May God rain down His blessings on all of you.

Ernesto (Spanish prisoner)
My sentence is for 13 years and I have done three. Now my lawyer wants to appeal my case again to see if they will diminish my sentence. If it is God’s will, I will get out of here. They have exaggerated my case. They say that I robbed five liquor stores when I robbed one. I have repented many times and asked God to forgive me.

Sergio (Spanish prisoner)
These lessons have been a real blessing to me and I praise the Lord for putting people like you in our paths because many people have died without repenting of their sins and reconciling their lives with our Heavenly Father.

Director Sanjeeb Sahu visited an area where Hindu pilgrims go to an "abode of the god" in hopes of obtaining salvation. Pastor Bharat related that, due to heavy rain, the roads had been closed for 15 days, but were just opened the day Sanjeeb arrived. The 25-30 believers, mostly from Nepal, received the SLM Bible lessons in Nepali. Much prayer was made for the pilgrims and the numerous temples. Praise God that no landslides or falling rocks endangered the team.

Our director, Guillermo Salazar, is undergoing some financial issues currently. Also for our Asian director, currently traveling in India, that she would be abl;e to encourage our men and women there..
