INVESTING FOR ETERNAL REWARDS

The principle of Investing now for eternal rewards has a large place in Scripture and we want to explore this concept suggesting various ways you can use the resources God has given you toward gaining eternal rewards. Frankly, we view such investment as a serious matter, both for the ministry and for the donor.

It is serious for the ministry because it is this type of special giving which allows any ministry to take large steps toward greater effectiveness. Regular giving is important to meet the daily costs of operating a ministry, but it is special gifts through other means that allow for expansion and growth necessary to achieve our eternal goals.

Such investment is important to the donor as well. Our LORD was serious when He said, “I say unto you, make yourselves friends of (with) the mammon of unrighteousness (money) so that when ye fail (when you die), they (those who were won to Christ through the money you invested) may receive you into everlasting habitations” (Luke 16:9). What a prospect! A welcoming committee in heaven made up of those who lives were effected for eternity by your wise use of the resources God gave you.

But the prospect of such a welcome depends entirely on action taken now. So we want to talk seriously about investment opportunities using such leverage instruments as Life Insurance, Life Income Agreements, Life estate Agreements, Stocks and Bonds, as well as Wills and the direct gift of cash.

If you believe what God has said, that it is possible and wise to make investments now for eternal dividends, and if you think reaching one million people each year with life changing Bible studies that result in an average of 27,000 conversions to Christ is significant and important, then please consider calling or writing the Stewardship Department at SLM, or E-mail us at rwalker@sourcelight.org. We will be happy to answer your questions whether you invest with SLM or not.
