“Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened..”Isaiah 35:5

Thomas Owino – new part time staff member.

The literal fulfillment of Isaiah’s prophecy to the blind, (Isaiah 35:5),is future, but spiritual eyes have to be opened to experience the promise.

To open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light....Acts 26:18

How imperative it is that we reach out to all people in all circumstances with the good news that Jesus Christ opens the eyes of the spiritually blind.

Prior to college Thomas attended Thika School for the Blind. In his letter of application to SOL-EA he said, “In 1985 I joined Pwani Bible Institute and obtained a diploma in Pastoral Theology in 1989. I joined the college because I felt in my heart that I had to serve the Lord and this could only be possible by having a deep knowledge of the Bible.” (Pwani is a 4 year evangelical Bible college.)

Thomas’s ministry initially will be part time to the blind at Kibos School for Visually Handicapped.
More SOL Lessons In Braille
In contact with Helping Hands, a ministry to the blind here in the U.S., they graciously offered to provide without charge additional SOL children’s courses in Braille to take to Kenya in the future. Our prayer is that once the ministry takes hold at Kibos we can make the lessons available to other blind children in Kenya.
